BluHomes Breeze, a townhouse development in Amparo Caloocan, is cool inside. Literally. This is without air conditioners and fans. This is because it was designed and built using the concept of passive cool house wherein the house itself does not allow the heat to enter and penetrate the house, yet allows the natural cool breeze to enter.
The roof of BluHomes Breeze is made up of a material called magnesium oxide, which is well known for its high-insulating properties. Heat comes mainly from the sun, and the roof is mostly in direct contact with it. According to tests, if the temperature above the magnesium oxide roof is 40°C, the temperature under it is only 30°C. Heat is already reduced from the roof. Another one of the many cool features of BluHomes Breeze is its use of casement-type windows. The normal sliding window that is most often used is 50% openable only. You cannot open one side without closing the other. Casement-type windows are 100% openable and allows more breeze to enter the house. Also, when fully opened, the windows can act as a scoop to funnel-in the breeze into the house. Cooling a house consumes the most energy from the electric grid, and reducing the active cooling equipment can significantly lower the electric consumption and can reduce the carbon emission being released to the atmosphere. In this way, homeowners are comfortable and the environment is saved. BluHomes Breeze is a townhouse development in Amparo Caloocan that is walking distance only to MRT-7. It is near SM Fairview, Lagro, and Sacred Heart in Quezon City and is very accessible to public transport.
